Finally, we’re getting a little break from the sweltering heat! The weather is getting a little cooler and there’s even a gentle breeze on some evenings. These are hints that my favorite time of year is here. Of course, I’m talking about football season! I was born and raised here in Alabama where football is a way of life – especially college football. We’re fanatical about “our team.”  People schedule life events like vacations, weddings, and probably even the birth of children around the college football schedule. Every Saturday for the next few months, will consist of family, friends, football and FOOD.  Just in time for kickoff of the SEC football season, I’m sharing a few simple, but tasty Game Day appetizers for your tailgate party.

Amazing Game Day Apps for Fellow Football Fans

Spinach Artichoke Dip

One of my favorite apps. This simple but tasty dip can be made up to a day ahead. Just store it in the refrigerator. Then bake in the oven just before your guests arrive.

Roasted Jalapeno Poppers

Although these poppers are baked, you won’t sacrifice any of the rich, cheesy, spicy deliciousness of the traditional fried ones.

This super easy recipe from Pillsbury is a refreshing alternative to the sad little veggie tray that’s usually still sitting on the buffet table at the end of the night.

Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Dip

I’m going to warn you. This cookie dough dip from What Megan’s Making is so addictive I could eat the whole bowl. And it tastes like real cookie dough! You can eat it with graham crackers, pretzels, or nilla wafers. Or you can eat it right off the spoon like me.
