I am a 37 year old woman. And I still LOVE pink! There I said it. I’ve loved pink every since my Barbies got that pink convertible for Christmas. There is plenty evidence that I haven’t been able to let my passion for pink go – from my pink lunch bag, my workout bag and even pink computer mouse. As a matter of fact, I’m in the process of creating a decorating plan for my bedroom and, yes, I will be featuring pink. I know you may be thinking “Pink? Really? Who are you Elle Woods? Your room is going to look like a baby nursery!” Au contraire mon frere, the color pink can be used to create a warm, sophisticated space without being overly feminine. Remember the color-phobic friend I talked about in my last post? Well, I finally convinced her to inject a little personality into her home by adding color. I almost have her onboard to actually paint the walls! A friend of mine recently asked me to help her give her boring living room a much-needed makeover. I took one look at the bland beige walls, beige rug and brown furniture, and immediately said “we have got to add some color to this place!” When I saw the panic-stricken look on their face, I knew she was suffering from color-phobia. She’s not alone though. A lot of people have a fear of color when it comes to decorating. They think adding color to a room means you have to paint the walls.
